A Special Message From Our Executive Director
Welcome to Heritage Green!
We're so happy you've stopped by to learn more about our organization.
HGCC is a Non-profit child care centre that opened its doors in 1993. Since then, we have operated centres in our Upper Stoney Creek community for children aged 0-12.
As of 2024, we now operate two child care centres. One is located in Mount Albion Elementary School, conveniently situated at 24 Kennard Street, and the other is in St James the Apostle Catholic Elementary School at 29 John Murray Street. We also have an EarlyON Child and Family Centre in the Valley Park Recreation Centre at 970 Paramount Drive.
Growing partnerships
As an organization, we are committed to collaboration and genuine partnerships with HWDSB, HWCDSB and the City of Hamilton. Our community is important to us, and we strive to provide quality care, support and resources for our families and stewardship of the neighbourhoods where our centres are located.
Programming Designed For Your Child.
Our program is centred around the belief that parents are the primary caregivers of their children. We believe that all children should be treated fairly and with respect while embracing and celebrating their cultural diversity.
We develop our program through careful observation, conversation, and reflection, always keeping your child's interests at heart. This collaborative approach ensures that our curriculum is engaging, encouraging your child to explore their world and providing meaningful learning opportunities that emerge from their interests, curiosities, and developing skill levels.
Child-initiated, Teacher-supported
Play is an important component of our program as it creates an engaging learning environment. Open and regular communication among parents, teachers, and management helps to ensure a complete and successful program for all children. This program helps to provide a complete and successful program for all children. With this approach in mind, our program helps each child reach their full potential.
Board Members who care
Heritage Green Child Care Inc. is governed by Board Members who control its operation under regulations required by law set forth by the Consumer and Corporate Affairs Branch of the government as well as the Ministry of Education.
Our Board consists of parents of children attending our program in addition to outside community members. Through regular meetings, the Board ensures the smooth and professional operation of our three centres. These dedicated individuals are an additional key component to the ongoing success of Heritage Green Child Care.
I look forward to meeting with you and supporting your child and your family in this most important stage of development.
Sincerely,
